Washington DC | Places to visit in Washington DC

Washington DC is founded after the American revolution as set of government of newly independent country and was named to the first President and founding father of United States of America, George Washington.   

We stopover to DC before we flew and still have time to walk around. We ride cab to go to famous landmark  around downtown area and first stop at Lincoln Memorial. Though was built to honor the 16th president of the United States Abraham Lincoln died by assassination but his memories remains.

In front of Lincoln Memorial was the Washington Monument. This was built in commemorate to George Washington and believed the tallest stone structure in the world made of marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss.

After taking some shots, we made a short walk though 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW where the White House, the  Powerful President's workplace and residence is located.

The White House
The Capitol Building is located at Capitol Hill near National Mall  claiming to be one of the symbol of democracy and a home of congress  legislative branch of the U.S. federal government working together. The building has unique architectural design and one of the best structure i've seen this day.  Interesting Post : Longest Island to Island Zipline in the World

At the 10th Street,  will see the famous The Petersen House where Lincoln spend his final hours.
